Our annual Thanksgiving meal will be served on Sunday, November 23 following the service. We hope your family will be able to join us for this time together with our church family.
Our Sunday School hour is in need of nursery workers. If you are an adult and could volunteer to work from 8:30am – 9:45am, you would greatly help out those parents that are attending Sunday School. We also need workers to sign up to cover the nursery during our church services . Please see Dawn Chamberlain today and get involved in this needed work.
Pastors’ Wives Appreciation Dinner
There will be a Pastors’ Wives Appreciation Dinner on November 2nd at 5:00 p.m. at the church. Please sign-up in the lobby if planning on attending. We hope you can join us!

The Alliance Men have scheduled Steve Carbno from the Salvation Army to speak at their 7:30 a.m. October 11th meeting in regards to how they can form a disaster relief team to help the Salvation Army. All men are invited to attend.
There will be an All Church Hayride & Bonfire at the Sandman residence on October 18th beginning at 5:00 p.m. Hotdogs/buns & beverage will be provided. Please bring a dish to share. Contact Stanley Sandman with any questions.
Tuesday Night Ladies Bible Study
The Tuesday Night Ladies Bible Study will be starting up again this fall on September 16th. Same time frame of 6:30 - 8:30 pm and the same location in the church library. This study will be lead by Wanda Mozley and Dawn Chamberlain and is called “Enjoy - a thirst-quenching look at Philippians”. It’s a 7 week study so we should be done well before all the holiday activities begin. If you’d like to be a part, please be sure to let either Wanda, Dawn, or the church office know so we make sure you have a study book. Come join us and be refreshed by God’s Word.
The next Taste and See potluck will be Thursday, September 18 at 5:30 at the church. We will watch the next portion of the DVD: why fats are needed in the diet, good/bad oils, myths about fats, omega3:omega6, sea salt vs. refined table salt. To make ultra-nutritious and zesty salsa, see the recipe in the foyer for ingredients to bring. Bring your young cooks, invite a friend!
Our missions conference will be held September 21st -24th. Brad & Dorothy Wood will be here to share about their work in the Dominican Republic. The schedule will be as follows:
*Sunday, Sept. 21st- 6:00 p.m. Potluck with the missionaries, Brad & Dorothy Wood
*Monday, Sept. 22nd- 7:00 p.m. Brad and Dorothy will be sharing about their work in the Dominican Republic
*Wednesday, Sept. 24th- Brad & Dorothy will be speaking to the teens at youth group at 6:30 p.m. and to the Awana kids at 7:15.
If you are new to Hawley Alliance and wanting to know more about the church and wondering how you can fit in, we would like to take you out to lunch right after the morning service on September 28th. The pastors and their wives and the elders and their wives will be there to meet you and answer any questions you may have. Nothing formal—just a time on “the front porch” to get to know one another. Lunch is on us!
Thursday Morning Ladies Bible Study
The Thursday Morning Women’s Bible Study will be starting a new study on October 2nd. It takes place at Nancy Ronsberg’s home and runs from 9:00-11:30 a.m. The study is titled “A Woman’s Heart” by Beth Moore. If you would like to attend, please contact Nancy so the books can be ordered.
The Spanish class for adults will be held Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the library starting September 4th. If you are interested and did not make it to the meeting, please talk to Ryan Lewis or Sandra Lopez. Please bring something to write with and a notebook to class.
